Lajos "Louis" Dudas


Lajos “Louis” Dudas, 87, of Egg Harbor, NJ passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2017.  Born in Passaic and raised in the Bronx, he resided in Fair Lawn for 30 years prior to settling in Egg Harbor.  Louis was a member of the Church of the Assumption in Galloway, NJ and former member of the Hungarian Reformed Church in Passaic.  A proud veteran, who served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War, he was a member of  American Legion Post 493 in Egg Harbor.  An aeronautics enthusiast, Louis enjoyed crafting model planes and artistry.  He will be missed by all who loved him.

Prior to retiring in 1984, he was employed as a transporter for Red Star Trucking for many years.  

Beloved husband of Mary (Del Gaizo) Dudas and the late Vera Elisabeth (Vikum) Dudas (1981).  Loving and devoted father of Randolph “Randy” Dudas and wife Linda, Steven Dudas and partner Kamala and step father of Paul La Bue and Kristine La Bue.  Cherished grandfather of Lauren Dudas, Amy Dudas and husband Chris Minerley, Brian and Matthew Dragotto and Aiden La Bue.  Caring brother of the late Frank Dudas. 

A Funeral Mass is planned for Saturday, May 27, 2017, 10:30 AM at St. Anne R.C. Church, 15-05 St. Anne Street, Fair Lawn, NJ 07410.  Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.  The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, May 26, 2017, 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 PM at Vander Plaat-Caggiano Funeral Home, Inc., 13-31 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn, NJ 07410, 201-797-3500.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Louis may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516.
