Peter F. Castrianni


Peter F. Castrianni, 91, of Fair Lawn, NJ passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2017.  Born in New York City, he was raised in Fort Lee and resided in Lodi prior to settling in Fair Lawn 57 years ago. A proud veteran, he served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a parishioner of St. Anne RC Church in Fair Lawn. Peter was a member of the Cosmos Club of Fair Lawn and also served on the Fair Lawn Holiday Committee.  An avid cook, he enjoyed boating and spending quality time with family and friends.


Prior to retiring, he owned and operated Castrianni Foods in South Hackensack for 50 years.


Beloved husband of the late Marie (Cambino) Castrianni.  Loving and devoted father of Peter Castrianni and wife Patricia, Joanne Oppermann and husband Frank and Stephen Castrianni.  Cherished grandfather of Christine, Lorraine, Peter, Laura, Gina and Jenna. Adored great grandfather of Michael, Gage, Ryder and Evan.  Caring brother of Lawrence Castrianni and wife Fran, Marie Palazzolo, Ann Castrianni and the late Betty Amato, Joseph Castrianni and wife Peggy and Leonard Castrianni and surviving spouse Ida.  He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.


The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, July 13, 2017, 4 - 8PM at Vander Plaat-Caggiano Funeral Home Inc., 13-31 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn, NJ 07410. (201) 797-3500, A Funeral Mass is planned for Friday, July 14, 2017, 10:30AM at St. Anne RC Church, 15-05 St Anne St, Fair Lawn, NJ 07410. Interment will follow at Fair Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Fair Lawn.


In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Peter may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 or a charity of choice.
