Ruth Emily Rogler


Ruth Emily (Forster) Rogler, 99, of Pompton Plains, NJ passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2017.  Born in Buffalo, NY and raised in the Village of Williamsville, she resided in Radburn for 50 years before moving to Pompton Plains 15 years ago with her husband, Ken.  A graduate of Wagner College in Staten Island, NY with a Bachelor’s Degree in English, she was a member of the Alumni Association.  An involved member of her community, she was a charter member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Glen Rock and a volunteer with St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Paterson.  An avid traveler, Ruth enjoyed teaching and playing the piano, bridge, speaking and teaching German and being a loyal fan of the NY Yankees along with the rest of her family.

Prior to retiring, she was a teacher with the Borough of Fair Lawn Board of Education, teaching at Thomas Jefferson Junior High School.

Beloved wife of the late Kenneth Wilson Rogler.  Loving and devoted mother of Ralph E. Rogler, DMD and wife Deborah and James W. Rogler and wife Debra.  Cherished grandmother of Elizabeth Rogler Rhoades, Lauren D. Rogler, Robert K. Rogler and Hilary K. Rogler.  Adored great-grandmother of five.  Dear sister of Wilma Szepanski and sister-in-law of the late Paul Rogler and wife Edith and Wesley Rogler.

A funeral service is planned for Monday, October 9, 2017, 11 AM at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 233 South Highwood Avenue, Glen Rock, NJ.  Interment in the church memorial garden will follow.
