Bruce Silver

Bruce Silver, 76, was called to heaven on Friday, November 24th 2017, with his loving family by his side.  A lifelong resident of Fair Lawn, N.J., Bruce was born in the Bronx, NY.  He spent his golden years with the love of his life, Saudhi Silver in Naples, Florida.

Bruce attended Julliard where he learned to perfect his unique trumpeting abilities from which he graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science and later attended Columbia University where he earned his MBA. A renowned trumpet player, in 1956 Bruce founded the Bruce Silver Band which entertained thousands for approximately 50 years.  Beyond his passion for music, the opera, and so many other things, his greatest passion was his family.

Bruce is survived by his loving wife, Saudhi Silver, his children who adored him, Adelina and her husband Glenn; his son David and his wife Holly; his beautiful grandchildren Nikki and Taylor; his loving brother Jay and his wife Marty; and his niece Heather.

Friends and family are welcome to visit on Thursday, November 30th from 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm at Vander Plaat-Caggiano Funeral Home – 13-31 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn N.J. Eulogy will be given on Friday morning, December 1st, 10:00am at the funeral home.  The burial will follow shortly thereafter at George Washington Memorial Park, 234 Paramus Road, Paramus, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Red Cross.
