Walter Grossman


Walter (Whitey) E. Grossman, 79, resident of Summit, NJ passed away on May 17,2018  Born in Brooklyn and a long time Bergen and Morris County resident, Walt was active in the printing / packaging industry for many years. A diversified man,  he also owned a Manhattan restaurant and then in later years taught ED students.  Walt was very active in his volunteerism. He became a Big Brother and taught chess to middle school students throughout Morris County.  His dedication and efforts were acknowledged by the Mayor of Whippany as well as President Obama.


Walt will be dearly missed by all, especially his wife, Jennifer, and his two sons:  Stephen, Erik and wife Caroline.  As well as by his grandchildren: Gavin, Clarah, Arden, Alexandra, Matthew, Alyssa, Bianca and Ashley,. Along with his cherished sister, Susan Bank, nephews:  Jeffrey Bank, wife, Lin and Andrew Bank, wife, Debbie, as well as great nephews: Jacob and Max, and great niece, Kennedy. As well as by loving cousins:  Gil Grossman and Devorah Moss.


Memorial services will be held Wednesday May 23,2018  11AM  at George Washington Memorial Park, 234 Paramus Road, Paramus, NJ meeting 10:45AM at the office and then proceeding to the Tower Chapel.


In lieu of flowers: those who wish to make a contribution in memory of Walter are asked to make their donation to the Alzheimer’s Association,
