Robert Fleissner

Robert William Fleissner, age 86, of Glen Rock, NJ passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at home surrounded by his family.  Son of Frank and Mabel Fleissner, Bob was raised in Milwaukee, WI with his four siblings, Jack, who passed away in 1995, Joan Griesbach, his twin brother Ron, and Fritz. In 1963, he moved to Fair Lawn, becoming an integral member of the St. Catharine Church community.  As a member of the church choir, Bob met his wife of 49 years, Ronnie Fleissner, née Egan, who passed away last year.  In 1972, he became the choir director, a position he held for 30 years, and remained an active part of the liturgical music program his entire life.

Prior to retiring in 2000, he was an engineer specializing in two-way radio and cellular technology and was employed with Motorola for the majority of his career.

Since his retirement, he has been a devoted grandfather to his twelve grandchildren - Jack, Kate, Emma, Kenny, Danny, Lauren, Charlotte, Lily, Abby, Nora, Sam and Thomas and a continued source of love and support to his children – Rob and Kristen Fleissner, Laura and Tom Kramer, Teresa and Chuck Manning and Joe and Amanda Fleissner.

The family will receive relatives and friends Thursday, November 1, 2018, 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Vander Plaat-Caggiano Funeral Home, 13-31 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn, NJ, 201-797-3500.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 2, 2018, 10:30 am at St. Catharine R.C. Church, 905 South Maple Avenue, Glen Rock, NJ.  Interment will follow at Christ the King Cemetery in Franklin Lakes.

In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Robert may be made to St Catharine’s R.C.Church would be appreciated.
