Dear Romano family, I worked with Joe many years ago , at Kimball Systems. I was 18 at the time Joe was a friend, at times my mentor, of course every time I had a girlfriend, and broke up he was there to guide me , ( laugh and tell me I was young and to move on). We spent many lunch breaks at Rutts Hut, we never had a ripper without ordering a beer! We had so many laughs together, the foreman always barking at us to keep it down. Of course, I cant forget that Joe bought , and introduced me to a Boiler Maker, at Rivallie's Bar, not sure how I made it home that afternoon. I planed to visit Joe this week, and hear the news of his passing, I am so sorry for your loss, He was and is a great man, and greatly missed.

Dear Joe Today, July 29, 2019, I called your phone to make arrangement for getting together with Fred and myself to have lunch as we promised you, only to receive the bad news from your nurse of your passing. Joe I am so sorry we did not get a chance to meet and have lunch. As I reflect back on the old memories of the Kimball System days I remember the “Weed Patrol Group” where we the Kimball reader workers would go outside on a Saturday morning in the Clifton location and pull weeds from the outside of the building. I remember going to Ruts Hut for lunch. I remember the company moved to Paramus and our Kimball group would go to the mall to get lunch and try to scurry back so went would not be back late to work. Joe, I am sorry to hear of your passing. In your honor Joe, I will stop at ruts huts and order two hot dogs, one for me and one for you. I will eat one and leave one for you. Joe, I’ll always remember the good times and I will sadly miss you. Your friend Tony

My Mom and Joe were next door neighbors at Silverwoods in Toms River. They had a special connection and a beautiful friendship. God was watching over them, because they ended up at Rose Garden in rooms right next to each other. What are the odds? My family and I are so grateful to have had Joe in our lives. We’re so glad we got to know Joe and his family. He will be missed.
