Joy J. (Goldschneider) Hollar, age 72, of Wantage, NJ on Monday, June 17, 2019.  Born in Seattle, Washington and raised in California, she resided in Highland Lakes and Bloomingdale before moving to Wantage three years ago.  Always active in her community, she was a member of the Red Hat Society, Highland Lakes Chapter, a member of V.F.W. Post 9458 Ladies Auxiliary of Bloomingdale, and volunteered in several capacities during her children’s lives.  Joy enjoyed knitting, crocheting, the History Channel, mystery movies and loved reading Sherlock Homes and Agatha Christie novels.  Her greatest passion was spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.

Beloved wife of 50 years of Harry N. Hollar.  Loving and devoted mother of Harry J. Hollar and wife Kim, Suzie Toliao and husband Allan, and Joy J. Gallagher and husband, John.  Cherished grandmother of Kaitlyn, Jared, Erika, Hannah, Heidi and Lyla.  Dear sister of Judy Ramirez, the late Bobbie Mayfield, Robert Cockerill, and Dee Dee Hartland.

Relatives and friends will be received Friday, June 21, 2019, 4-9 pm at Vander Plaat-Caggiano Funeral Home, 13-31 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn, NJ.  A funeral service is planned for Saturday, June 22, 2019, 10 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Fair Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Fair Lawn.  

A selfless woman, Joy was a participant in the research of experimental cardiac medications to benefit the next generation.  For this reason, the family would appreciate, in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Joy Hollar be made to the American Heart Association, Founders Affiliate, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.  Individuals may also choose to plant a rose bush in her honor as Joy was very fond of roses.
