Joan Marie Mott

Joan Marie (Hendricks) Mott, age 87, of Saddle Brook, NJ passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2019.  Born in Passaic, NJ and raised in Old Tappan, she resided in Clifton before moving to Saddle Brook 64 years ago.  She was a parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle Church in Saddle Brook.  An avid reader, she was a member of the Saddle Brook Library Book Club.  Joan enjoyed traveling including to Hawaii to visit her son and the Jersey shore but her greatest joy came from spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.

Prior to retiring, she was a children’s librarian with the Saddle Brook Free Public Library for nine years.  Previously, she was a computer digitized operator with Baxter Textiles in Hawthorne for 20 years and in her early years a banking investigator.

Beloved wife of the late William Mott.  Loving and devoted mother of William F. Mott and wife, Jayne and Donald Mott and wife, Linda.  Cherished grandmother of Katie Mott and fiancé, Buddy Harris, Susan DeCillis and husband Nick and William, Sarah and Alexander Mott.  Dear sister of Fred Hendricks and the late William Hendricks.

The family will receive relatives and friends Wednesday, July 24, 2019, 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Vander Plaat-Caggiano Funeral Home, 13-31 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn, NJ.  Please gather at the funeral home Thursday morning at 9:30.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, July 25, 2019, 10:30 am at St. Philip the Apostle Church, 488 Saddle River Road, Saddle Brook, NJ.  Interment will follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Joan to the American Heart Association, Founders Affiliate, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005 would be appreciated.
