Scott John Emerson, Jr.


Scott John Emerson, Jr., age 34, of Fair Lawn, NJ passed away suddenly on December 14, 2019.  Born in Teaneck, he was raised in North Bergen and Fair Lawn where he resided since the age of 13.  Mr. Emerson was a member of NJ PBA Local 134 and Knights of Columbus St. Ann Council Post 2853 of Fair Lawn.  An altruistic man with a huge heart, he never hesitated to get involved no matter the cause.   Scott enjoyed trips to Atlantic City but especially time spent with family and friends.

He served as a Bergen County Sheriff’s Officer for eight years.

Beloved son of Kathleen (Shea) and Scott Emerson, Sr.  Loving brother of Ryan Emerson and wife Jackie, Krystal Horwath and husband Steve, Brianna Gannitello and husband Joseph and Luke Emerson.  Cherished grandson of Rosemarie and the late Ronald Emerson and the late Doris and James Shea.  Dear uncle of Juliana, Stephen, Christopher “Toby” and R.J.  He is also survived by several loving aunts and uncles.

The family will receive relatives and friends Wednesday, December 18, 2019, 4-9 pm at Vander Plaat-Caggiano Funeral Home, 13-31 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn, NJ.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, December 19, 2019, 10 am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 1 Passaic Street, Ridgewood, NJ.  Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Scott to NJ PBA Local 134, 10 Main Street, Hackensack, NJ 07601 would be appreciated.
