William "Bill" D. Robertson

William “Bill” D. Robertson, Sr., age 95, of Fair Lawn, NJ passed away at home on Thursday, January 2, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.  Born and raised in Hoboken, NJ, he resided in Fair Lawn since 1960.  Bill proudly served with the U.S. Navy during World War II.  A Western culture follower, he also enjoyed movies and spending time with family.

Prior to retiring in 1994, he was an instrument assembler with Bendix Corporation in Teterboro for over 25 years.

Beloved husband of Laura May (Hagen) Robertson.  Loving and devoted father of Kim Lauren Hendrickson and husband Tom and William Robertson and wife Dawn.  Cherished grandfather of Jessica Eccles and husband Jason, Cody, Chad and Katie.  Adored great-grandfather of Brayden and Ryan.

The family will receive relatives and friends Tuesday, January 7, 2020, 4-8 pm at Vander Plaat-Caggiano Funeral Home, 13-31 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn, NJ.  A funeral service is planned for Wednesday, January 8, 2020, 10 am at the funeral home.  Entombment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bill to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Our Savior Lutheran Church, 22-15 Broadway, Fair Lawn, NJ 07410 would be appreciated.

Bill is home with The Lord now. May The Lord bless Laura and the family with the assurance that he has eternal life through Christ and they will too. The church family at Our Savior Lutheran Church will keep the family in prayer.
