Dominick J. Gargano


Dominick J. Gargano, age 83, of Fair Lawn, NJ passed away on Monday, January 27, 2020 at home surrounded by his loving family.  Born and raised in the Bronx, New York, he resided in Fair Lawn since 1972.  He proudly served with the U.S. Army until his honorable discharge in 1961.  Mr. Gargano was a parishioner of St. Anne R.C. Church in Fair Lawn.  An active man, he was a member and avid golfer of White Beeches Golf & Country Club in Haworth, member and past president of DHI, an association of door security and safety professionals located in Washington, DC, a pioneer of CarePlus New Jersey in Paramus, a member and former Chancellor of Knights of Columbus St. Ann Council Post 2853 in Fair Lawn and coach of the 1973-1974 St. Anne CYO Basketball Team .  Dominick also enjoyed reading.  He will be remembered by all in his professional, social and family circles as a true friend and mentor.

Prior to retiring, he owned and operated Doncor Sales in Fair Lawn for many years. 

Beloved husband of Catherine (Ferris) Gargano.  Loving and devoted father of Christopher Gargano and wife Lynn and Elizabeth Costanza and husband Lawrence.  Cherished grandfather of Christina Costanza, Dominick J. Gargano, II, Graceanna Gargano and Michael Costanza.  Dear brother of Lucille Masiello, Nancy Gargano Smith and the late Peter Gargano.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, February 1, 2020, 10:30 am at St. Anne R.C. Church, 15-05 St. Anne Street, Fair Lawn, NJ.  Entombment will follow at Garden of Memories in Washington Township.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Dominick to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 would be appreciated.
