Margaret C. Keyes

Margaret C. (Geng) Keyes, age 100, of Fair Lawn, NJ, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at home surrounded by her loving family.  Born and raised in Oakland, NJ, she resided in Fair Lawn for 58 years.  A faithful parishioner of St. Anne R.C. Church in Fair Lawn, she was a member of the Columbiettes.  Mrs. Keyes was also a member of the Curtiss-Wright Retiree Group.  Marge enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, bird watching and gardening, especially flowers with her favorite being roses.  The consummate matriarch, her greatest joy came from caring for and spending time with her beloved family.

Prior to retiring in 1991, she was a clerk with National Community Bank in Maywood for over 20 years.

Beloved wife of James Keyes.  Loving and devoted mother of Jim Keyes, Kathy Burghgraef and husband Nick, Eileen Kenney and husband Marty, Judy Keyes and Jackie Keyes.  Cherished grandmother of Sandy, Rich, Colleen, Shawn, Meghan, Joe and Alyssa.  Adored great-grandmother of Drew.  Dear sister of Justine Breheney and the late Betty Herrmann, Jackie Payne, June Fraedrich and Larry Geng.

The family will receive relatives and friends Monday, June 22, 2020, 4-8 pm at Vander Plaat-Caggiano Funeral Home, 13-31 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn, NJA Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, June 23, 2020, 10:30 am at St. Anne R.C. Church, 15-05 St. Anne Street, Fair Lawn, NJ 07410.  Interment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Margaret to St. Anne Church or St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 would be appreciated.
