Angelina Maria Popolo


Angelina Maria (Maggiotto) Popolo, age 90, of Fair Lawn, NJ passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at home surrounded by her loving family.  Born and raised in New York City, she resided in Fair Lawn since 1961.  She was a faithful parishioner of St. Anne R.C. Church in Fair Lawn.  As the youngest sibling of ten and predeceased by her nine siblings. Devoted mother of five, her life was always centered on family, who she loved immensely and enjoyed cooking for to their delight.  Angelina was an active member of her community as a member of the Cosmos Club and Fair Lawn Elks Ladies Auxiliary, volunteer with the Fair Lawn Little League for a decade and the Fair Lawn All Sports Association as well as serving as a Den Mother with the Boy Scouts of America.  An avid walker, well known throughout the borough, she also was passionate about clothes shopping.

Prior to retiring in 1993, she was a secretary with the Borough of Fair Lawn Board of Education for many years.  She served as the President of the secretarial staff for the Fair Lawn school district.

Beloved wife of the late Frank James Popolo, Sr.  Loving and devoted mother of Frank Popolo, Jr., Nicholas Popolo, Susan Hockeppel, Michael Popolo, and Glen Popolo.  Cherished grandmother of Lindsey Wert, Robert Lehman, Matthew Popolo, Alexandra Popolo, Amanda Vartabedian, Deanna Cabasso, Gabrielle Iannucci, Briana Popolo, Anthony Popolo, Michael Popolo, Jessica and Victoria.  Adored great-grandmother of Jackson and Henry Wert, Logan Popolo and A.J. Vartabedian.

All services were private.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Angelina to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 would be appreciated.
