Elaine Clark

Elaine (Martin) Clark, age 83, of Morristown, NJ since 2019 passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021.  Born in Paterson, she was raised and resided in Fair Lawn for 60 years before moving to Port St. Lucie, FL for 27 years.  She loved Florida where she enjoyed collecting shells on the beach and spending time with family and friends by their pool. Elaine was an avid Mahjong player and played with her friends throughout her life. She also loved to play card games, such as Nickel with her family whenever they came to visit. Elaine enjoyed antique shopping and finding treasures at flea markets and thrift stores - she loved a bargain. Elaine and her late husband Richard traveled often to Las Vegas, they enjoyed the Grand Canyon and spent time visiting family in Colorado and New Hampshire. She also enjoyed cross stitch and needlepoint, making many of the table cloths and napkins for all our family occasions.

Prior to retiring in 1990, she was a customer service representative with the Hewlett-Packard Company in Paramus, NJ for 15 years.  She was also a former member of Van Riper-Ellis-Broadway Baptist Church in Fair Lawn.

She was the beloved and devoted wife of the late Richard Edwin Clark, Jr., whom she was married to for 64 years at the time of his passing in November of 2020.  Loving mother of Cindy Scalice and husband Ron, Nancy Brunner and husband Billy and Kenneth Clark and wife Melissa, and close family friend of Richard Decker. Cherished grandmother of Kimberly Marks and husband Kevin, Michael Scalice, and wife Nicole, Caitlyn and Christian Brunner and Caroline and Kevin Clark.  Dear sister of the late Raymond Martin and Frank Martin, Jr.

All services are private.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Elaine to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK  73123-1718 would be appreciated.

Beloved Grandma Jack, Jacob asked us the other night, “Who will be our Grandma now?” What an innocent question from a young child’s perspective. We answered that Grandma Jack and Grandpa Dick are not replaceable; that God only made one of each of them and He made them especially for all of us that had the beautiful gift of having them in our lives. I suppose I asked a similar question when my Mother died a long, long time ago; and you, “Jack”, “Mrs. Clark”, answered that question with your enduring goodness, grace, and love for me. You have opened your heart and your home to me for as long as I can remember. We are as shocked as everyone on how quickly we lost you after we lost Richard, but, in the grand scheme of life, I can only imagine that the only place you could be genuinely happy is with him; and now you are, once again. Cindy shared the beautiful wedding picture with us, and it reminded me of last Valentine’s Day when he sent you roses, another picture courtesy of Nancy. What a perfect ending together. So, rest well, Jack, and know that you have blessed us all with your loving goodness and kindness. You will be sadly missed--forever. We pray for comfort for Cindy, Nancy and Ken in their devastating losses of the past two months. Love Always, Richard and Maggie
