Matthew Joseph Miller


Matthew Joseph Miller, age 34, of Fair Lawn, NJ passed away on Monday, March 15, 2021.  He was born in Ridgewood, NJ and raised in Glen Rock.  A movie buff to the core, especially of comedies, Matt also enjoyed video games, singing and stand-up comedy.  He was a loyal NY Jets fan.

In 2006, he began as a Bar Back with Willie McBride’s in Hoboken where he worked his way up to be the regular’s favorite bartender, always served with a smile, and a laugh.

Beloved son of Rosemary (Roach) Miller and Alvin T. Miller, Jr.  Loving brother of Janelle Miller and Danny Miller.  He is also survived by cherished aunts and dear cousins.

The family will receive relatives and friends Thursday, March 18, 2021, 4-7 pm at Vander Plaat-Caggiano Funeral Home, 13-31 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn, NJ.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, March 19, 2021, 10 am at St. Catharine R.C. Church, 905 South Maple Avenue, Glen Rock, NJ.  For those unable to attend in person, the Mass will be livestreamed via the following link  Cremation will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Matthew to CUMAC, P.O. Box 2721, 223 Ellison Street, Paterson, NJ 07509, would be appreciated.

We are all shocked and saddened by the news of Matts passing. A member of the class of 2005 (daughter) and a friend of our son (2008), he will be remembered as a kind person who grew up down the street from us. We can all be sustained by the happy memories we have of each other in this rough time.
