Raymond "Ed" Carter

Raymond “Ed” Carter, age 77, of Fair Lawn, NJ passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2021 with his loving family at his side.  Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, he resided in Fair Lawn for 47 years.  Mr. Carter proudly served with the U.S. Air Force.  He was a parishioner of St. Anne R.C. Church in Fair Lawn.  A dedicated member of his community, he was a 15-year member and past president of the Borough of Fair Lawn Board of Education.  An accomplished drummer who was passionate about music, Ed was a member of the U.S. Air Force Band, Glen Rock Pops and several local bands.

Prior to retiring, he owned and operated Amber Cyclery in Fair Lawn.

Beloved and devoted husband of Alberta J. (Calvano) Carter.  Loving father of Ray Carter and wife Susan and Allison Carter.  Cherished grandfather of Ellie and Russell Carter.

The family will receive relatives and friends Sunday, April 18, 2021, 2-6 pm at Vander Plaat-Caggiano Funeral Home, 13-31 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn, NJ.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, April 19, 2021, 10:30 am at St. Anne R.C. Church, 15-05 St. Anne Street, Fair Lawn, NJ, vpfairlawn.com.  For those unable to attend the Mass in person, please join via live stream at the following link https://boxcast.tv/view/raymond-carters-funeral-mass-kg9dc0i0bpr1sefztwnu  Entombment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ed to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
