John "Jack" J. Vaughan


John “Jack” J. Vaughan, age 87, of Fair Lawn, NJ passed away on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family.  Born in Jersey City, NJ and raised in Woodside, NY, he resided in Fair Lawn for 59 years.  He proudly served with the U.S. Army National Guard and was part of the 79th Battalion.  Mr. Vaughan was a faithful parishioner of St. Anne R.C. Church in Fair Lawn where he served as an usher at the Saturday evening Mass and was a member of the Knights of Columbus St. Anne Council Post 2853.  Jack was an avid golfer and enjoyed woodworking. He was also a fan of the New York Jets and New York Mets.

Prior to retiring, he was a stereotyper with the New York Times for over 40 years.

Beloved husband of the late Patricia (Masterson) Vaughan.  Loving and devoted father of Teresa Vaughan, Debbie Milnes, Eileen Hennecke and husband Rudy, Carol Foca and husband Darryl and John Vaughan, III and wife Wendi.  Cherished grandfather of Shannon, Kevin, Kaitlin, Jaclyn, Samantha, Maureen, Steven, Darryl Jr., Billy, Kasey, Dylan, Kyle, Megan, Johnny IV and Austin.  Adored great-grandfather of Carson, Piper, William, Lane, Paityn, Penelope, Robert Jr., Mason, Darryl III, Aubrey, Brayden and Zachery.  Dear brother of Robert Vaughan and wife Patricia, Catherine Ann Gallagher, the late Thomas Vaughan and the late Mildred Buggé.  Dear brother-in-law of Dorothy Veri.  Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive relatives and friends Thursday, June 10, 2021, 4-8 PM at Vander Plaat-Caggiano Funeral Home, 13-31 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn, NJ.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, June 11, 2021, 10:30 AM at St. Anne R.C. Church, 15-05 St. Anne Street, Fair Lawn, NJ.  For those unable to attend Mass in person, please join via the following link .  Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jack to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 would be appreciated.
