Rosalie Agnes Tortorello

6/14/2021

Rosalie Agnes (Sanches) Tortorello, age 90, of Belleville, NJ passed away on Monday, June 14, 2021.  She was the first of four children born to Henry Sanches, Sr. and Iris (King) Sanches, raised in Bronx, NY. and a graduate of St. Jean Baptiste High School. As an admirer of art, she displayed her fondness for drawing and painting, in her paintings of landscapes and animals.  After her marriage to her (late husband) Sheridan Tortorello, Rosalie began her married life in Belleville where she continued to reside for the next 57 years. Her son, Christopher, was raised in Belleville, and prior to her retirement in 1993, Rosalie worked as a customer service representative with Blue Cross/Blue Shield of NJ for over 30 years.

As a deeply devoted woman to her faith, Rosalie was a parishioner of St. Peter R.C. Church in Belleville and spent countless hours praying for the issues and problems of our world. She leaves a legacy of kindness and devotion to her family and friends that was shown in countless ways, throughout her life. Her granddaughters, Diana and Alexa were an ongoing source of pride and joy in her life. And with the recent arrival of Scarlett, Rosalie became a great-grandmother.

Rosalie enjoyed traveling in the U.S and the Caribbean as well as, the beauty of the cherry blossoms in her hometown. In her later years, she loved and became very adept in her daily weather reports from local TV and AM radio – which she eagerly shared with family/friends.

In her immediate family, Rosalie is survived by her son, Christopher and daughter-in-law, Bridget; her granddaughter Diana and her husband David; her granddaughter Alexa; her great-granddaughter, Scarlett; and her sister, Annette Sanches. Theresa (Sanches) Patanow - Rosalie's late sister; Henry Sanches, Jr. - Rosalie's late brother)
